Cultism according to the Oxford dictionary, is a system of religious worship , one that is expressed in rituals. While secret cult is the secret religious worship, one that is expressed in rituals.The history of cultism in Nigeria Universities can be traced back to 1952, when Professor wale Soyinka and some of his friends formed the pirates Confraternity at the University of Ibadan, with the purpose of fighting against oppressive lecturer etc.
Today some of the following are some of the ways a Student cultist can be identified :
1. They are mostly temperamental , this is so because cultism is a game of violence and unforgiveness, for them it helps them to move up the ladder.
2. They look down on other people , and everyone who does not belong to their group is seen as an enemy . This belief also make rouged to every other person in his direct environment including their parents .
3 They usually indulge in the habit of drinking and smoking, and each of the group has its own brand of Gin.
4. They are in the habit of keeping an unkempt breads , the purpose for this ,is to make them look more brutal.
5. They usually isolate themselves from Parents
6 The excessively demand money from Parent.
7. They often stay away from School.
8.They always lock their Room , ward drop etc
9 Recievs and speaks strange language on the phone
10. They are overtly Bold.
11. They keep late nights and is crazy about Parties.
12. Surrounded by strange people and friends
Parents should en devour to watch out for this characteristics in their wards
