Four students of Government Secondary School have reportedly died while seven others were hospitalised in Fanah, Suru Local Government Area of Kebbi State yesterday evening, following an outbreak of meningitis.
It is gathered that the death of the students was caused by to much heat in the village.
The seven students were rushed to the General Hospital, Kamba, Dandi Local Government Area of the state.
They were said to have contracted gastroenteritis.Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, who went to the village in company with the Speaker, Hon. Ismail Abdulmumin, also visited the hospital to sympathise with the patients.
He directed that clean water should be provided to the people of the area with immediate effect.
