The Institute of Chartered
Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) was established by Act of Parliament
No. 15, 1965 to set standards of
knowledge and skill to be attained by persons wishing to become members of the
accountancy profession in Nigeria. The Institute has over 40,000 members and
over 120,000 students on its registers and conducts examinations twice a year.
Its vision is to be a leading global
professional body while its mission is to produce world-class Chartered
Accountants, regulate and continuously enhance their ethical standards and
technical competence in the public interest.
In order to broaden the knowledge
and practice of accountancy, the Institute is organizing the 2Annual
International Academic Conference in
Accounting and Finance in Nigeria. Conference
Objectives:
The objectives of the conference
include the following:
•bring together members in academia
and corporate world and for exchange of ideas
•acquaint members on the new areas
of knowledge in the accountancy profession and related fields
•intimate members on the knowledge gap
in accountancy profession
•afford participants network

Submission Requirements
•All interested participants who wish to present papers at
the conference are required to submit full paper;
•The papers are to be in standard MS word and should not be
more than 7,000 words;
•The abstracts of the paper should be between 200-250 words;
•The submission should among other things include the title
of the paper, key words which should not be more that 5 words, APA reference
style
(Version 6) should be adopted; and
•The author(s) and contact person’s (for papers that are
jointly co-
Authored) mailing address, phone number and e-mail address should
be clearly stated.

Ph.D Colloquium
Ph.d Candidates are
expected to present their research work before their research work before a
panel and conference participants. Assessment shall be based on the following
criteria: contribution to knowledge, originality, language/style, creativity
and coherence.
Prizes shall be awarded
to the best on-going Ph.D thesis/proposals.
